Ammonite Fossil Art
These Cephalopod beauties are all about the fossils detail in cut polished cross section. The "Ammonite shells" here are mirror images of each other. All crystallized replacement shows differently from fossil to fossil in the ways they all have different levels of preservation. The original chambers are divided by Septa and are splendid in identifying the type of Ammonite creature and indirectly how old it is too. These chambers were how it once breathed and lived in ancient oceans. Ammonite fossils can range between 60-400Million Years old. They are old, not like their present day ancestors the squid and octopus.
